My End-of-Year Business Rituals

As we begin to approach Quarter 4 and prepare for the end of the year I’m reminded of the season that’s to come with a familiar scent.

I have a pumpkin shaped, pumpkin scented candle lit on my desk as I type this and the aromas that are filling my room remind me of this time and season. One that is often shaped with rebirth for me.

Year after year I have seen certain patterns play out both in my personal life and business. And as I have observed these patterns I have learned to create my own rituals and routines that not only support me through the change of the seasons but also help me THRIVE through the seasons.

The thing about life is that there are always seasons and they will come and go. That doesn’t change. What does change is our ability to navigate and conquer them. We are what changes. We are what grows.

Here is what I have learned and what I do at the end of the year in order to set myself up to thrive in Quarter 4.

  1. I take 3 weeks off

    Every single year without fail, I take one week off in November and 2 weeks off in December. This is something my energy calls me to do every single year and I believe it’s for a few reasons. First, I feel like I need to rest and replenish the energy I exerted throughout the year so that I can prepare for the upcoming year. Second, I like to use that time to plan/prepare for the upcoming year. Thirdly, I LOVE the holidays and I love enjoying the holiday season. I like to be present, unplug and enjoy the holidays.

  2. I strategize for Q4

    If there is one pattern I have seen play out over and over again, it’s the fact that Q4 is the most profitable time of year AND that it’s the foundation for the upcoming year. What you do in Q4 not only determines how you close out your year but also how you set yourself up for the upcoming year. I cannot stress this enough. I believe THIS is one of the two things that set me up for my first 6-figure year in my coaching business in 2022.   3. I create my yearly strategy for the upcoming year

    This is the second thing that I did that I attribute to my first 6-figure year in coaching in 2022. I created my intuitive yearly sales calendar. I sat down to figure out how I wanted the year to go based on my energy. I decided what I wanted to sell, how, set my sales goals etc. Mapping out my year and setting clear intentions gave me a roadmap to follow and a way to co-create with the Universe. When you learn how to not only work with your energy but also with the energy of the seasons you’ll learn how to navigate them in a way that most supports you to thrive. Think about how the past couple of years have gone for you. What patterns have you seen? And what can you do to support yourself through that? Remember, everything happens for you, not to you. So take ownership and DECIDE what it is that you want to happen and then take action accordingly.
